It's just a game!
This "competition" is based on the classic board game "battleship". In this geocaching variation of the game you can take a shot at the Game Board by finding or placing a geocache. Each shot might result in a hit and perhaps even sink a ship. Once you have cleared the board, you can set up for a new round and continue shooting. At the end of the competition we'll see who sunk most ships. It is a fun way to get outdoors and enjoy geocaching!
During the competition you can find caches all over the world so it is a great extra during the holidays. We will make it easy for you and provide all the tools you need to plan your mission!
At the end of the competition we will host a wrap-up event where the winners of prizes will be determined.
Battlecoins
The 2014 Battlecache Coin was a big hit last year and was completely sold out before the event. This year we will design another coin for the contest. As soon as details about the designs are finalized, we will post pictures here. As with last year, several versions of the coin will be produced. Two versions will be for sale (the Captains and the Cadet version) while the other versions are for Winners and for Sponsors.

As of June 1st, 12:00 am, the game has officially started! The database has been reset and everybody starts with a blank board.
Any cache* found or placed in the months of June, July and August of 2015 can be used to take a shot at the game.
The game runs until the end of August. After the game ends, there will be a few days extra in which you can log your finds for August. After that we will proceed to declare winners at the wrap-up event
